Welcome Nancy Holladay

Please welcome Nancy Holladay of Idaho. Nancy has Spinal Arachnoiditis. Nancy says:

"Am surprised to hear about the difficulty people are having getting diagnosed. Mine was discovered in a follow-up CT 1 1/2 years after a spontaneous epidural abscess led to sepsis and my spinal cord was severely damaged. A radiologist diagnosed it and my doctors have been treating it without question since.

My pain management physician has been very respectful of my preference for alternative treatments, but I'm now at a point where we are using more traditional pain meds.

The medical staff at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, Idaho is absolutely awesome and incredibly progressive. "

  1. Hi Nancy, I am so happy to hear you have found good doctors, radiologists and pain mgmt specialists. I have lived in 4 different states over the last 20 years and have yet to find a good doctor that understands how to treat AA. I had to go to Dr. Aldrete in Alabama to get the diagnosis in writing even though I was told I had it in 1991 after two lumbar surgeries and multiple bad ESI's. I too use as much alternative medications and treatments as possible. They work better for some things, do not have side effects, and are not destructive to our bodies like traditional RX's are. If I ever move to Idaho, I will know who to use! Thank you for your post. Cindy Hellman, Co-founder LWA
